Rural renovation
The pastoral views at this restored farmhouse in Pownal are simply breathtaking and there were some beautiful stone walls and aged granite steps on the site. However, the existing flagstone patio was in rough shape. Large slabs of irregular Black Mountain flagging were brought in as a replacement, along with reclaimed granite for entrances to the patio area and residence. Now the patio is worthy of its surroundings!
Rain really brings out the color in the Black Mountain flagging that was chosen for the new patio surface
Everyone loved the old steps and walls at this Pownal property, but the patio was in rough shape
Some adjustments were needed to the existing steps and walls to create a safe and functional entrance to the kitchen and upper patio area for cooking
Antique granite steps were carefully sourced and installed to maintain the historic feel of the property
Additional reclaimed granite was utilized to create a ramp entrance on one side of the patio and a landing for the hot tub on the other
Most of the large slabs in the patio were set with a machine, using a suction system to safely place each piece
